So, a couple of food bloggers and I were invited to Punjab Grill to try out their new "Jab Punjab Grill met Chennai" menu. I was super excited especially because this was the first time I got invited to review the food of a restaurant.

This new "Jab Punjab Grill met Chennai" menu is created by two renowned chefs Vijay Sethi of Punjab Grill and Vetrimurugan Nateshan from Zambar, who is known for his delicious South Indian style dishes.

The ambiance of the restaurant was excellent, the interiors were tastefully decorated and every single detail was carefully designed to give the guests a warm welcome feel.

For the first course of our meal, we were served with Non-Veg and Veg starters which were absolutely delicious."Valai Ilai Meen Veruval", a fried river sole fish which was marinated in spices and grilled was very succulent. This was followed by Tawa Murgh Kali Mirch, which is chicken marinated in yogurt, black pepper and fenugreek leaves which was a bit spicy, but delicious nonetheless. The vegetarian starters were equally delicious with dishes like Tawa Paneer, Tawa Mushroom, and Mooligai Adai. Tawa mushrooms were a bit on the spicier side with an overload of black pepper, it set our taste buds on fire.

The main menu had amazing mouth-watering dishes like Meen Manga, Murgh Sirka Pyaz, Tawa Keema Kaleji, and Mutton Milagu Masala, and of course vegetarian dishes like Paneer Tikka Masala, Makai Palak Bhurji, Avial and Arhar Dal Curry Patta Tadka.

My personal favorites were Meen Manga, Tawa Keema Kaleji, Mutton Milagu Masala, Tikka Masala and Avial. The Meen Manga was a South Indian style fish curry with mild notes of raw mango, it would have been better if the meat had absorbed the flavor from the raw mango. Tawa Keema Kaleji was mind blowing and it went perfectly with the Malabar Parantha which we were served. The Kerala style Avial was perfect and had an authentic South Indian touch to it. However, these main dishes were a bit too oily, something which needs to be taken care of.
And finally, for the dessert, we were served with Gulab Jamun, Jalebi Churros which were served with Semiya Paal Payasam. The semiya paal payasam was a bit dry. The Gulab Jamun and Churros were served hot, they were a perfect dessert to end this delicious meal.
