Rainbow Restaurant

Rainbow is one of the nicely built mid range restaurants located in the heart of the city. You might miss it on traffic as it is not easily visible even though it sits on a busy intersection, so I suggest you leave route finding to google this time. This restaurant came highly recommended to me by one of my best friends, so I decided to give it a try.

The ambiance of the restaurant is exemplary and took me by surprise as I did not expect much from a restaurant named "Rainbow" (another lesson for me to never judge a book by its cover). The restaurant is located in a two storied building, where the ground floor is used as a juice station where you could order freshly prepared fruit juices, and the first floor is where the dining area is located. The dining area is simple and elegant, there where only 5-6 tables and only limited number of people can be served at a time.

The menu is quite simple and offers a selection of Chinese, North Indian and Chinese based cuisines. Though the design of the menu card is a bit awkward and will make you take some time to find what you are looking for.

During our visit we ordered a Fish Hydrabadi gravy, Veg ball Manchurian, some Ceylon parathas, phulkas and a pan fried veg noodles. The pan fried veg noodles appeared to be a bit burnt, but still it tasted good, would have been great if it had been properly done. Fish hydrabadi gravy was something else, it went great with the breads we ordered, this is definitely a must try if you get to visit this restaurant. The Veg ball Manchurian could have been done better, the veg balls were a bit soggy and full of oil and the gravy was a bit too sour.
