Murugan Idli Kadai

I had the chance to visit Murugan Idli Kadai during the time when Chennai was hit by the Cyclone Vardha. People from the South will remember the year 2016, as the year in which the cyclone Vardha hit Chennai and its surrounding areas with all its might causing heavy damage to the city and its people.

This restaurant was a welcome sight to the eyes of me and my friend, as we were famished during our travel from Chennai to Vellore in a bid to escape the cyclone. Located between the two cities, this restaurant attracts the travellers who are passing by.

Ambiance of this restaurant is exemplary, it sits on a vast area near the highway with stores, Jigarthanda stalls, play area for the children, etc., The interior of the restaurants were also well lit and properly organized. The staff are friendly and are always by your side when you need them.

The food was also delicious, we ordered a Ghee onion podi dosa and a butter masala dosa. The preparation was simple yet excellent. We were served with 5 kinds of sides which went well with the dishes which we ordered.

On our way out we visited the Jigarthanda shop and got us some, they were well prepared. Also, the store of the restaurant had some nice varieties of home made snacks which you can buy. We got ourselves some cashews and milk halwa.

If you find yourself traveling from Chennai to Vellore or Bangalore, this place is a must try.
